UnPlayTheGame

We are an Indie Game Dev team, initially united by game jams and spread across several countries. We mostly focus on two kinds of games:

• Meta-narrative games - exploring the meta-narrative capacity of game mechanics. We believe that video games are a unique medium of art that goes beyond passive consumption of conventional media and allows for active participation. Games have less control over players’ experiences, which makes players co-authors of their unique experiences, contributors, not passive consumers. In our games, we emphasize this creative aspect of video games as a medium.

• Unique mechanics-driven games - mostly puzzles and strategies. Mixing different genres and game mechanics, deconstructing conventional formulas for certain genres and reassembling them in refreshing new ideas. Making the familiar strange and the strange familiar.
